Claudia Haarmann:

  • Born (Oct. 1970) and raised in Mettmann, Germany. Abitur 1990. Since 1995 married to Dirk Haarmann; daughter Hannah Hoandis Haarmann (Sep. 2000); son Japhet Doëdao Haarmann (Oct. 2002).

  • Work as a volunteer in hostels for students of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Republic of Namibia (ELCRN) (1990-1991).

  • Study of Protestant Theology, Sociology, and Economics at the universities of Bielefeld (Germany), Marburg (Germany), Institute for Social Development (ISD) at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) (South Africa) and theological seminaries in Bethel (Germany) and Wuppertal (Germany) (1991-2001):

    • BA Honours (cum laude) (1996) in Social Development (UWC), South Africa.

    • Masters (cum laude) (1998) in Social Development (UWC), South Africa.

  • Civil service in a school for mentally disabled children (1989-1990).

  • Work as a volunteer with a focus on youth development at the Andreas Kukuri Centre in Okahandja and development work with the squatter camp community in “Five Rand” (Okahandja) for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Republic of Namibia (ELCRN) (1991).
